NIOSH issues study results on MSDs in the Workplace

NIOSH studied a poultry processing plant for prevalence of workforce MSDs at the request of its owners. The recently released study “makes recommendations to improve work conditions and minimize exposures to factors that increase the risk for musculoskeletal disorders and traumatic injuries.”

OSHA supports national Fall Prevention campaign

From June 2nd – 6th,  OSHA’s “stand-down for fall prevention” campaign is being promoted nationwide. The “stand-down” calls for companies to take some time to remind employees of the importance of fall prevention and kick start a safe summer season. OSHA is accepting nominations for the National Advisory Committee. Nominations may be submitted electronically at http://www.regulations.gov. See the Federal Register notice for submission details. Nominations must be submitted by May 27, 2014.
