New members of Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee (WPAC) named
WPAC has appointed two new members to its committee as well as the reappointment of 13 members. WPAC advises the Secretary of Labor on ways to improve the effectiveness of OSHAs whistleblower protection programs. The new committee will become effective Dec. 1, 2014.
OSHA initiates National Dialogue on Hazardous Chemical Exposure
OSHA has launched a national dialogue on how to prevent workplace injuries and illness caused by hazardous chemicals. According to the release, “Ninety-five percent of OSHA’s current PELs, which cover fewer than 500 chemicals, have not been updated since their adoption in 1971.”
The comment period for the RFI will continue for 180 days.
