OSHA LogoOSHA Training to Target Federal Worker Health & Safety Improvements

The OSHA Training Institute (OTI) is offering a 3-day training seminar to address ergonomics, indoor air quality, and workplace violence as well as other relevant safety issues to ensure that public workplaces are operating at the level of the private sector. The event takes place in Arlington Heights, IL from July 31 to August 2, 2012. 

OSHA Seeking Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee (WPAC) Nominations

The committee is seeking nominations for 12 members who will advise the Secretary of Labor and the Assistant Secretary of Occupational Safety and Health on “matters relating to the improvement of the fairness, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of OSHA’s whistleblower protection activities.” A great career move for the right individuals but you had better hurry; nominations must be submitted by July 27, 2012.

OSHA & Federal Railroad Administration Agree to Protect Whistleblowers

The two departments have signed a memorandum of agreement regarding the enforcement of the Federal Railroad Safety Act protecting railroad employees from retaliation when reporting safety violations, or work-related personal injuries or illnesses.
