  • OSHA to Hold Forum to Identify Regulation Options for Combustible Dust

    Combustible dust is a hazard in many workplaces and can result in explosions as well as fatalities. OSHA will be working to prevent such incidents and is holding a forum to invite “experts” to join them to gather views on possible regulation to protect the worker from the hazards of combustible dust.   • Residential Construction Fall Protection Standards take Effect June 16, 2011

    OSHA’s rule requiring residential construction contractors to comply with fall protection standards will take effect on June 16th. Read the full news release at the OSHA Website.

  • OSHA Interprets their Take on ANSI Standards on Accident Prevention Signs and Physical Hazard Marking

    A letter was sent to OSHA to clarify if OSHA would be adopting and enforcing the latest American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) standard regarding accident prevention signs and physical hazard marking. OSHA responded with the following interpretation: 1. The new ANSI standard is not on the agenda to review, and 2. In the meantime, OSHA cannot adopt new standards without intensive rulemaking procedures. Read the full interpretation letter at OSHA’s website.
