Alaska Governor’s Safety and Health Conference: March 23-25

InjuryFree will be traveling to Anchorage, Alaska to deliver two presentations at the  Alaska Governor’s Safety and Health Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. This year’s theme is “Driving Safety for Alaska’s Future.”

Mark your calendars!: We will be presenting “Ergonomics: Recognizing and Reducing Risk” on March 24 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and “Fit for Duty and the Employee Maintenance Center,” on March 25th from 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Ergonomics: Recognizing and Reducing Risk presentation description: Attendees will learn how ergonomics provides a pro-active approach to preventing claims by understanding the workplace on both a holistic level and on an individual, employee-to-workstation level. Participants will be guided through an intermediate understanding of the benefits of ergonomics in the workplace, identifying musculo-skeletal risk factors and cost-effective ideas that solve ergonomic issues through assessments.

Fit for Duty and the Employee Maintenance Center program description: Alaska’s safety professionals will be introduced to viable solutions that help employers ensure their employees are fit for duty. The presentation will be supported by a case study detailing the implementation of “Employee Maintenance Centers” that have dramatically reduced repetitive, overuse soft tissue injuries in the pulp and paper industry.
